The game
You run the tomato category of a supermarket for one tomato season of 60 days. One product, three numbers to watch, one goal: end the season with as much profit as possible. Purchase budget is unlimited — only profit counts.
How a day works
- Supplier quotes. Two suppliers quote a cost per kg every day and the quotes move from day to day. You buy from either or both.
- Lead time. Orders are placed in the evening and arrive before opening the next morning, paid at the price quoted on the day you ordered.
- You set the shelf price. Each day you choose the sales price per kg. The closer your price is to the cheapest supplier quote of the day (what a competitor could sell at), the more customers show up. At three times that quote, nobody buys.
- Tomatoes rot. Tomatoes are sellable for 3 days including the day they arrive. Customers always pick the oldest ones first; whatever passes its last sellable day is binned and the money spent on it is lost.
- Profit is everything. Score = all revenue minus all money paid to suppliers. Note that tomatoes sold today may have been bought at up to three different prices over the last 3 days.
- Starter stock. You begin day 1 with a small delivery already on the shelf, bought at the cheapest quote. Its cost is already counted, so your profit starts slightly negative.
All numbers are generated fresh on the server for every game — there is nothing to memorise between runs. You can save the game at any moment by leaving your email, then find and continue it from anywhere; a finished season enters the leaderboard once it also has a shop name. The game is pure HTML forms, so it works for humans and for AI agents driving a browser alike.
